Mission Statement:

The mission of Dothan High School is to prepare our students to be successful and productive members of society.

 Media Center Hours:

Monday - Thursday  7:00 - 4:00          Friday 7:00 - 3:30

Media Center Usage:

Dothan High School's Media Center is available as a resource center to individual students, groups, and classes during the school day.

Students must have a signed "Tiger Tip" book from a teacher to visit the Media Center.  The student's name, time, and date must be completed.  Students must also have a current permanent DHS identification card.  Students are expected to use the Media Center and its resources appropriately and effectively.  No food or drinks are permitted in the Media Center at any time.

• Reference books for use inside the Media Center
• Copying and printing (.10 per page/black and white; 1.00 per page/color)
• Computers for school assignments
• Access to 44 periodicals for use inside the Media Center

• Purchasing parking decals
• An environment to study or read
• A helpful staff

Computer Usage

DHS students must abide by the Dothan City School District Acceptable Use Policy. 

We have 24 computers available for classroom and individual use.  All students utilizing the computers must have a current DCSnet Agreement on file.  Students have also been assigned a computer login username and password.  This will give students access to all provided programs as well as the ability to save work.   All rules outlined in the DCSnet agreement form, as well as in the Dothan City Schools Code of Conduct, must be followed at all times.  Violation of any of the policies and procedures regarding the use of the computers at school could result in loss of access to the computers.  

•    24 computers available in the lab setting
•    Students must have a current complete internet agreement form on file to access the computer
•    Student user names and pass words will be issued one time
•    Computer are to be used for school assignments and research only
•    Sending and receiving e-mail, playing games (online or otherwise), or any activity not supporting school assignments is not allowed.  Surfing is not allowed.
•   The following applications are available to students:

               Microsoft Word                      Power Point                            Excel

               Publisher                                 OPAC - library search

   Printing: 10¢ per page for black and white and $1.00 per page for color

   The use of a Dothan City School computer is a privilege not right.  Please adhere to all DCS and DHS rules.

Books (maximum of 2 per student) may be checked out for a period of 2 weeks.  An overdue charge of .05/day is applied to overdue books.  Students will not be permitted to check out additional items until all books are returned and overdue fines are cleared.

Books may be renewed for as many times as needed.

Books should only be checked out by the student using them. Students are responsible for paying for any items that are lost or badly damaged.
